About TAPS and Cancer Camps

These past 12 to 14 months have really been a test and a testimony to
the bonds that tie for Project Linus! Every time there was a need for
TAPS, you were there and once again you have reached the goal of 900
blankets for the Good Grief Camp for Memorial Day in Washington DC.

Recently I was reading some quotes of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and the
one that really touched my heart was when she said, "I know that God
will never give me more than I can handle...but I just wish He didn't
trust me so much!" You have no idea how many time I have looked up to
the Heavens and said, "oh please...enough already!"...
and then I laugh
and know in my heart that this "Yah yah sisterdhood of PL Coords" will
come through and our missions will succeed.

This Chapter and several of my other coord friends in the area are
struggling with depleated inventories. Now we are facing the western
Montana, Idaho and
eastern Washington...to the Cascades, Cancer Kids Camp that is held in
Post Falls Idaho each year. If anyone has a blanket t or two that they
can spare

(FYI)_ I just sent off 12 fleece blankets to the Cancer Camps....

A Note from a Valley Med recepient

Dear Special People:
My daughter just left Valley Medical Hospital after 19 days.
A very kind Foster-Grandmother in the playroom brought us one of your
beautiful rainbow colored throws. It brightened up her room and gave her
something warm and soft to cuddle up with during the long and sometimes
lonely days and nights
I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated all your time and
energy. It was very "SPECIAL"

From TAPS

Dear Dolores, I just got down to the bottom of your box of blankets (while packing them in plastic sacks for the trip to Washington DC) for the children of the military members and found your brochure! Thank you so much for the beautiful, handmade blankets!!
On behalf of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors Good Grief Camp, I really appreciate your efforts! The blankets are on their way to Washington DC as I type this for the Memorial Day camp to assist children and teens on their grief journey. Please know that they are greatly appreciated - and you are, too -for your dedication to helping these children whose parent or sibling has paid the ultimate price for our country.
I am so honored that your chapter from San Jose is committed to helping "our" children and teens feel comforted in such a difficult time. Thank you!!!

Sincerely,
Judy Mathewson, TAPS Good Grief Camp

Thank you from Snowball Express

Subject: Thank you

I would like to send a heartfelt "Thank you" to your organization for the handmade blankets my children received at the 2007 Snowball Express event in CA. One of the blankets was tagged with "Shirley's" name on it from your chapter ~ Again "Thank you" and know that each time they wrap themselves in them they feel your love and warmth.
Many blessings from "A grateful family"
